Day Three Hundred and Sixty Five

I would like to thank everyone who supported me in this course of this crazy project (which actually took me 381 days). Every comment made me want to keep on going. Thank you to everyone who inspired me and gave me ideas. Thank you to Mary for helping me come up with the idea to start with. Most especially thanks to my amazing husband who listened, cheered and posed for this project and every day of the last 9 years. I love you baby.

One of the million things I love about fall, even though I keep pointing out it isn't actually fall for two more weeks.

First Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. God bless you FiveBucks!

Day 351 - My husband the genius!

So for some time we have been wanting to fence in the yard for the dog so they could have a safe place to play but we has some logistical problems. We got three sides fenced in perfectly but we selfishly did not want to loose the side garden and retaining wall. But my gifted husband came up with a great plan to make everyone happy! He found a retractable fence! And then he set out to set it up in a way that is secure for the dogs but not permanent so we can move it when we rebuild the deck. Here is what he came up with!

1. First he made forms out the MANY kitty litter buckets we have been hoarding in the basement. They are the perfect size, big enough to be solid but not so huge that we can't move them.
2. He made the worst popsicles ever! LOL The copper piper is the exact fit of the fence post but it won't be damaged by the cold and wet like wood would (get it Aimee? Wood would!)
3. The top end if the the fence post and the stick with be driven into the earth as a steak.
4. The kitty litter buckets didn't make it but at least with the new recycling rules we have put them in with our curb side pick up. So now they have been reused AND recycled.
5.The fence in it's dormant state. SO cool.

Day 347 of 365

Taking advantage of the great evening light. I love these late summer nights, I wish they lasted a little bit longer.

Sorry there was no picture yesterday but I was in a Nyquil induced coma. Tonight for some reason I have all the lights off in the house. It felt like a thing to do, maybe a little solidarity for my friends Andrew and Jenn down in the States who were left powerless in the wake of Irene. Anyway the lack of light made some pretty funky shadows at dusk, and thus a picture was born.

Funny where inspiration strikes.... I happened to have the little camera in my pocket on my way into Sobey's this evening. I saw this shot and knew that it was going to make me happy, and it does!

The weirdest thing happened today... Oliver moved. He got up and went and laid down in the hallway, not on a dog bed... My mind is blown.

Poor Tikka had to go to the vet today and have all her mats removed. It wasn't very fun for her but she looks beautiful.

I have wanted to stop and take this picture for about 20 years.
Today I got my opportunity.
Laugh my ass off EVERY time.

Second day of the trip and still no working laptop however I did go to Future Shop and by myself a cute little Canon Power Shot A490.  It is tiny and will fit in my purse and takes AA batteries. Perfect for those times I don't want to lug the Rebel around or when the spare battery and the charger are an 8 hour drive away. It also take a pretty good picture. Perfect little back up camera for the low price of $69.00.

This is the view from the bungalow. This is the view of my childhood summers. This is the view of paradise.

Better late than never, I didn't have a working laptop OR working camera the first day of our CB trip so this one is off the ol' cell phone, still not to bad all in all. This is the Dancing Goat. It is in Margaree, Nova Scotia. Please do your self a favour and go there. Trust me it is worth the drive!
