119/365

I got to take a little break from cleaning tonight to have a little tea party with my sister who I don't get to see very often because we are both very busy people. We had a pot of tea in the good china cups and chocolate biscuits. It was nice to sit and be quiet for a while and talk without husbands and kids and phones ringing.  It was perfect.

I realized it has been a while since I posted a picture of one of our Buddha's so tonight for your viewing pleasure I bring you Big Blue!  He is covered in soft blue velvet/valor. If Elvis had a Buddha in his house it would be this one. Oh yeah I love him and his big fuzzy ears. I love him big time.

I also love his big blue nipples!

I am not taking a picture today, my mouth hurts and I am cranky so you will have to suffer with a picture from yesterday.

Day 106 of 365

We were at Gil's office Christmas party tonight and we had a very fun time. Lots of opportunity for picture taking which was very fun. The food was good, the company mostly delightful and the vodka and cranberry juice went down easy. Thank goodness I was not the poor girl from the party in the next room who drank so much she spent most of the night in the ladies room worshiping the porcine gods. At least she MADE it to the washroom, someone else worshiped the carpet ... it was awful.
Anyway enough about that lovely topic... one of the fun things we do every year is pulling the Christmas crackers. I love that tradition, I love the silly paper hats and the bad jokes...
I even love the awful gits. I love them.

Day 101 of 365

I think that the house is finally all decorated! It looks so beautiful. I am so happy that I decided to just go ahead with it and that I did not tear down the tree when the animals were driving me crazy. It looks so pretty. I love the red and gold it looks so classy...
but I also love the touches of whimsy that make it all ours.

This is Todd, he is a crow. We bought him and his big brother Quoth a few years ago as Halloween decorations but they became full time decorations because they are just so cute. Since then we have incorporated several other crows into our Christmas festivites.
If you you are nice I will share them with you this week.

I hope he reads my blog!

Day 95

Tonight I started to decorate the Christmas tree which I love. I hate getting it up, I hate putting on the lights but I love making it beautiful. I love picking the right spot for the right ornament. I do it all by myself and I enjoy it that way, in the quiet, by the light of the tree, taking my time. I enjoy looking at each ornament and remembering where it came from. I love sitting back in the end and enjoying my creation, my piece of Christmas art.

Day 93 and maybe a bit drunk.....

Okay I thought I better do this before I am too drunk to work the laptop. Aimee and busted out the old IQ2000 game tonight, it was made in 1984 and the questions were seriously funny and/or stupid and/or racist. However I got stuck on Uranus for a good long time (Language arts) and needless to say the jokes got pretty raunchy I was laughing so hard I could NOT walk down the stairs from the bathroom I had to come down on my bum like a 3 year old. What a fun time!

Don't worry I got out of Uranus eventually!

Day 92 of 365

I am babysitting, watching TV and hanging with my baby. It is quiet now but two hours ago is as full on crazy town here, no one can party like a three year old! Please take no notice of the toddler gnawing on the fork.

Day 91 and time to change things up a bit

I usually set out to take a pretty picture or a technically good picture to share with you. I did take several pictures of some Christmas decorations at work but when I was flipping through it was this picture that grabbed my attention. This is my desk. I spend 8 hours a day here. I am the Queen of this tiny domain and this little kind of crappy picture shows it exactly as I live in it. The thing is, and I am not sure why, I am really attached to my veal feeding pen. I love my window. I like my chair. I like the pictures I have hung on the wall. Despite the fact that I share the office with other, this little patch is all mine. I don't have to share it with anyone. I can kick people out. It is the only spot I have like that. Do you have a spot where you reign supreme?

lotion, but I prefer the place to be professional."

Day 90!!

I woke up the other day and I just felt like I needed something to change, I didn't like the way I looked and I didn't like the way I felt so I called my friend David who is also my trusted hair dresser and told him I needed a change. He, as always, was up to the challenge so tonight he came and he did the deed. He is a good man.

Do I look like a grown up?

Day 89 of 365

I tried to start my Christmas baking tonight with a recipe I got from my girlfriend Ang. She made them last week and I got to try them at book club. They were divine. The recipe seems very easy at first glance but somewhere along the way. The taste was great but the texture was terrible and when I tried to take them out of the pan they totally fell apart, very disappointing but I will try again. In the mean time here is my failure.

Day number 88 of 365

Night is coming pretty damn early these days. The sky was starting to darken when I left work tonight at 4:30. It is hard to deal with for me because I do have SAD. Some people don't believe in such a thing or they think that everyone gets a little sad in the winter but those who have it will tell you, as I am now, that it is very real and very painful illness I have great support from my husband and my friends but that doesn't mean I don't still feel it. One of the things that helps is to keep busy, keep structured and to look for beauty in the darkness. That is why I am sharing this picture that I took at sunset which this evening came at roughly 5:15pm.

Day 86 of 365

Winter has really started to creep up on us. I don't love the cold but it does provide lots of opportunity some beautiful pictures. I took this one this morning while we were sitting in the car waiting for the windshield for defrost.I thin it is kind of pretty.

Day 83!

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Okay so I know the snow is cold and wet and it makes driving a major pain in the ass, and shoveling, don't even get me started on shoveling. But you have to admit. It is awfully pretty!

(Ask me again in January what I think of the snow)

80!!!

While we were walking through Mahone Bay today I saw the most amazing plant I have ever seen. I don't know what it is but it is so beautiful I need to find some for  my own yard. We called it a feather tree.

Can you name this plant?

76/365

I am not shirking my duty at all but I am telling you that I might be spread a bit thin between NaNoWriMo and project 365 so today I I decided I needed to write more then I needed to take pictures so at the last moment I grabbed my camera and took a picture of the first thing I saw. In this case it was my arch nemesis the alarm clock.
Anything this cute has to be evil!

Now normally I don't cotton to Sugar Shitty Pops for breakfast but this morning I was pouring a bowl for my nephew as a special treat and I was over come with a desire to eat a bowl myself. Needless to say I had the shakes all morning. LOL
They're magically delicious!

Day 73... TMI!

There are somethings in our private lives that we don't share with the outside world. Somethings that are private or weird and other people just don't meed to know about them. This is one of those stories.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
In my house some acts of personal hygiene are totally private and are done totally behind closed doors away from the other inhabitants of the house; like clipping your toe nails, man that is gross, to that in seclusion!! However peeing isn't one of them, unless we have company over, please don't be afraid to come over and visit, I promise I won't make you watch. But when Gil and I are home we have an open door policy and we have for the entire 8 years we have lived together. Tonight when we came home I had to go rather badly so I ran to the bathroom but we were in the middle of talking about something interesting so I left the door open. He said something to me that I couldn't hear so I leaned forward to hear him better but I had not noticed the door had bounced off the radiator and had closed a little so I also didn't see that my head with on an impact trajectory to the doorknob. Honest to god the first thing I thought was that I had lost my ear, then I thought maybe I had broken my jaw, then I realized I has screaming and freaking out and my poor husband was looking at me like I had been shot. The pain was friggin' immense. I saw some very pretty black spots dance before my eyes and then as my husband passed me the dogs water dish I chucked. I am okay now, the dizziness has pretty much passed and Hawk-eye  moved me to a comfortable seat in the living room with an ice pack on the goose egg behind my ear. Apparently there is a big never bundle back there so... fun times!

Ouch!

72/365

It was a beautiful day outside today so it was out into the yard for me to do some much needed pick up of dog business. Lucky for all of you I love you way too much to take pictures of that. But while I was out there I did see another one of our much loved Buddha's. He goes unnoticed way too often because he is always quietly sitting in the corner standing guard on our door.  He at one point in time was actually a solar light. How weird.
